Mite - Damage to Onion
|

|
Bulb mites can attack seeded onions cutting
off the radicle before the plant can establish. They attack onion
bulbs, usually through another injury site, feeding in clusters
damaging the root plate thus inhibiting growth. Mite damage also
allows rotting organisms to enter. Plant stands can be reduced or
stunted. Mite damage may promote bulb rot even in storage. |
