Cabbage Maggot - Damage on Cabbage/Crucifers

The maggot larvae feed and burrow into the feeder and main roots of the plant. Plants appear sickly and off color. On warm days, attacked plants have a characteristic appearance: purplish-red tinged leaves that are turning yellow, wilting and drying up. Severely infested plants may die. Maggot injury can also provide entryways for such pathgens as blackleg and bacterial soft rot.
