Colorado Potato Beetle - Damage to Potatoes

Potato is the favorite food of this insect. Both larval and adult stages feed by chewing the leaves and terminal growth of the potato plant. They may devour so much of the vines that the plants die, and the development of tubers is prevented or the yield greatly reduced.
