Corn Sap Beetle - Damage to Sweetcorn
 
Sap beetles seldom do much damage. Larvae will feed on the ear kernels. They often will feed on the tips of corn ears that have been previously damaged by earworm. Adults are easily disturbed and will scatter about the plant.
