Plant injury is caused by the spider mite feeding. They rasp at the underside of the leaves and suck up the sap. This causes a speckling and leaf discoloration of a yellow to bronze appearance. Spider mites will also produce webbing which may cover the plant. Severe infestation can lead to yield reduction since mite feeding can cause wilting, leaf defoliation or can even kill the plant.
