Geneva:

2nd brood flight of Spotted Tentiform Leafminer started = 6/10. Sampling for control decision recommended at 500-700 DD (base 43°F). Current DD accumulation = 438.

Obliquebanded Leafroller DD (base 43°F) accumulated since 1st catch = 645.

Comstock Mealybug adult 1st catch 6/25 in Wayne Co.

Apple Maggot 1st adult catch = 6/28.

Redbanded Leafroller, Lesser Appleworm and Oriental Fruit Moth 2nd flights began 6/28. Degree days (base 50°F) since 1st Codling Moth catch = 714.

Control of 2nd generation is timed at 1260 DD. DD accumulations have been just a little above "normal" so far this season, but are now beginning to look more like the "sizzler" years, 1998 & 1991.

Highland:

2nd brood flight of Spotted Tentiform Leafminer started = 6/7. Sampling for control decision recommended at 500-700 DD (base 43°F). Current DD accumulation = 576.

Degree days (base 50°F) since 1st Codling Moth catch = 719. Control of 2nd generation is timed at 1260 DD.

Obliquebanded Leafroller DD (base 43°F) accumulated since 1st catch = 645.

High numbers of Tarnished Plant Bug observed in traps.

Drought stress symptoms appearing in apples.
