and Symposium

We'd like to extend an invitation to join us at Quail Hollow Renaissance
Resort, located in the heart of Northeastern Ohio's Lake Erie Wine
Region for the 34th Annual ASEV Eastern Section Conference and Symposium
on July 20-22.
The ASEV-ES exists to provide opportunities for sharing information
and research applicable to the Midwestern and Eastern grape and wine
industry, and to support and recognize students that will be future
leaders in research, extension, and industry.
This year's conference includes a July 20 preconference
tour of Northeastern Ohio vineyards and wineries along
the shores of Lake Erie, the ASEV-ES technical session, Student
Paper Competition, and the Sparkling Wine Reception
and Awards Banquet on July 21, and the program symposium Wines
and Vines in a Changing Climateand Eastern Wines
Theme Luncheon on July 22.
The ASEV-ES scholarship program, supported through donations from
industry at the annual auction during Wineries Unlimited, allowed
us to provide scholarships to nine students from 7 universities in
2008. The 2009 scholarships and student paper competition awards
will be presented at the awards banquet.
In addition to the program, there will be opportunities for golf
outings (at Quail Hollow Resort) and fishing charters on Lake Erie
before and during the conference.
Hotel. The Quail Hollow Resort accommodates
176 spacious guest rooms with excellent conference, restaurant and
lounge facilities. Many extra amenities are also available
at Quail Hollow such as two 18-hole championship golf courses, extensive
fitness center, and pool and spa. Nearby attractions include
a premium quality wine region, Cleveland Metro parks Zoo, Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Great Lakes Science Center, Lake Erie
“Walleye Capital of the World” and the world famous Cedar Point Amusement
Park located in Sandusky, Ohio.

results and industry news, and re-establish personal connections
with colleagues, industry partners, and students from throughout
the Midwest and Northeast.
