Quail Hollow Resort,
Painesville, OH
July 20-22, 2009

We'd like to extend an invitation to join us at Quail Hollow Renaissance Resort, located in the heart of Northeastern Ohio's Lake Erie Wine Region for the 34th Annual ASEV Eastern Section Conference and Symposium on July 20-22.

The ASEV-ES exists to provide opportunities for sharing information and research applicable to the Midwestern and Eastern grape and wine industry, and to support and recognize students that will be future leaders in research, extension, and industry.

This year's conference includes a July 20 preconference tour of Northeastern Ohio vineyards and wineries along the shores of Lake Erie, the ASEV-ES technical session, Student Paper Competition, and the Sparkling Wine Reception and Awards Banquet on July 21, and the program symposium Wines and Vines in a Changing Climateand Eastern Wines Theme Luncheon on July 22.

The ASEV-ES scholarship program, supported through donations from industry at the annual auction during Wineries Unlimited, allowed us to provide scholarships to nine students from 7 universities in 2008.  The 2009 scholarships and student paper competition awards will be presented at the awards banquet.

In addition to the program, there will be opportunities for golf outings (at Quail Hollow Resort) and fishing charters on Lake Erie before and during the conference.

Hotel.  The Quail Hollow Resort accommodates 176 spacious guest rooms with excellent conference, restaurant and lounge facilities.  Many extra amenities are also available at Quail Hollow such as two 18-hole championship golf courses, extensive fitness center, and pool and spa.  Nearby attractions include a premium quality wine region, Cleveland Metro parks Zoo, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Great Lakes Science Center, Lake Erie “Walleye Capital of the World” and the world famous Cedar Point Amusement Park located in Sandusky, Ohio.

Please join us for this annual event at which we share wines, research results and industry news, and re-establish personal connections with colleagues, industry partners, and students from throughout the Midwest and Northeast.
