The Flavor List logo was developed from the logo used by the pshchology department at Cornell University. It is an attempt to use Stevens Law,
where Psi is a measure of the intensity of a sensory perception, Phi is the physical intensity of the stimulant that induced the perception and "n" is the Stevens' Law exponent. Flavor chemists are concerned with the study of Phi while psychologists and sensory scientists are concerned with the study of Psi. Biologists are concerned with the study of both. This equation brings all three fields of science together in a single line of text.
