Com. Me jasmonate [a mixt. of (.+-.)-Me jasmonate (I) [20073-13-6] and (.+-.)-Me epijasmonate (II) [53369-26-9]] was sepd. into I and II by chromatog. on a silica gel column loaded with 15% AgNO3. I and II were sepd. into optical isomers by resoln. as the bornyl jasmonates. Only (+)-Me epijasmonate (III) [95722-42-2] had the characteristic Me jasmonate odor.
