The Sand BoxThis page is dedicated to memories of the Onenuite people who played here by the shores of Seneca Lake long ago. Their name in English, Seneca, came from the Dutch mispronounciation of Sinnika, the Mohican translation of Onenuite which means "People of the Standing Rock."
These ideas may never be more than "sand castles" on the shores of "Onenuite" Lake.
