Sui Ti A. Siebert received her M.S. in Biochemistry from Pennsylvania State
University in 1970. She has many years of experience working in the
clinical diagnostic field. Her work primarily involved research and
development of radioimmunoassay and enzyme immunoassay test kits for the
detection of various hormones and pathogens. More recently, she has been
engaged in research utilizing liposomes as a target and signal bearing
agent in immunoassays for the detection of environmental pollutants. She
is well versed in protein purification and screening procedures for
assessing polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies. She is also knowledgeable
in the applications of different solid-phase technologies including
membrane, coated tube, bead and microtiter plate in immunoassays.

Dr. Baeumner received her Ph.D. from the Institute of Technical Biochemistry at the University of Stuttgart (Germany) in June, 1997. Her thesis, Development of a Single-Use Immunosensor for Environmental Analysis of Pesticides with Liposome Amplification and Amperometeric Detection, (English translation) complements studies she will perform as part of her postdoctoral research.
