According to my family's memories, my Great Grandfather Frank Newton was one of the original staff members. I believe he was the first Secretary on staff. He and his wife, Mary, and their three daughters, lived on Lewis Street where the Senior Citizen Apartments now stand. We were always proud of the work the 'Station' did with regard to fruits, vegetables, treatment for pests, etc. Growing up in Geneva the Experimental Station was a positive presence in our lives. My family all wish you many successes and a continued productive future for the next 125 years. |
