Details: We are pleased to announce that CARL Distilleries and B&D Technologies, in cooperation with the Cornell University New York State Agricultural Experimentation Station, will hold the Artisan Distilling Workshop Fall 2007 One-Day Short Course at the NYSAES Brewing & Vinification Technology Laboratory in Geneva, New York on Monday, December 3 (starting at 8:30 am and closing at approx. 5:00 pm), This one-day short course is a cooperative and comprehensive primer focusing on batch distillery technologies and their beverage alcohol production applications, as demonstrated on Cornell’s commercial-scale copper pot still. This short course will provide thorough introductory background and will be jointly presented by Alexander Plank, Director of Operations at CARL Distilleries (Germany), and myself, Nicolas Haase, Director of Technical Sales at B&D Technologies. The course agenda will alternate between theoretical presentations and discussions, covering the multi-faceted aspects and possibilities of small-scale artisan distilling, and practical distillation demonstrations in Cornell’s state-of-the-art NYSAES facility. Note: some of you may be interested to know that following the ADW Short Course, on December 4 to 6, Cornell will also be holding their Cider Making Workshop – please inquire with Nancy Long at Cornell for details. ADW Short Course Agenda Overview: Please refer to the “ADW Schedule & Registration 12-07” document attached (PDF document). The ADW Short Course Registration Fee is $ 190 per person / $ 170 for Members of NYS Wine Grape Foundation (limit of two persons per party). The Workshop group size is limited and reservations are first-come, first-serve. The course fee covers the ADW One-Day Short Course and course materials, as well as morning refreshments (coffee, muffins, fruit,...) and lunch. Act soon, as we tend to fill up quickly.
