Sigma Xi is a scientific research society established in 1886 that
recognizes scientific research achievements or potential. With more
than 70,000 members, Sigma Xi sponsors a variety of programs supporting
honor in science and engineering, science education, science policy and
the public understanding of science.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges

one of the premier horticulture research and extension institutes in
the world. Their mission is to support New York’s
agricultural and food industries with research, extension and education
programs. The interests of the research scientists range from applied
to basic science including biotechnology.

Geneva City Schools

Science On Seneca
Science on Seneca enables local science teachers to use The William
Scandling, Hobart and William Smith Colleges' 65 ft. research vessel,
as a floating outdoor classroom. This experience allows high school
science teachers an opportunity to demonstrate to their students the
methods and resources of college level environmental study. Teachers
can use the activities they and their classes experience on board The
William Scandling, and the Science on Seneca website, to create
hands-on, standards-based course of study for their students.
