Introduction for Scientists![]() |
Visiting a local classroom is a fantastic way to help students become more interested and engaged in science. Your participation in Partners In Science can have a tremendous impact on the extent to which students appreciate science and understand the world in which they live. In addition, by talking with students or using specific activities, you will be able to help them see the real-world applications of science and make connections between what they are learning in their classroom, their community and the world around them. Finally, we feel that improving science education in the classrooms is an important step towards encouraging the students in our local schools to consider the possibilities that science may offer to their futures.
Use the links within this section to get ideas about the types of things that you can do in classrooms at different levels. In addition, we provide “Tips For Success” based on the experiences that we and others have had in the past. Teachers find it very helpful if you can describe your expertise in the context of the NYS curriculum.
