The Tree Fruit & Berry Pathology Group
Introduction - The Tree Fruit and Berry Pathology group is led under the interim direction of Dr. Wolfram Koeller, Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology at Cornell University in Geneva, New York. The Tree Fruit and Berry Pathology group is responsible for assisting New York farmers in managing the diseases that affect production of quality fruit. We achieve this goal by: 1) Conducting research that addresses both current and future pathology issues threatening New York's tree fruit and berry industries; 2) Summarizing research and practical information pertinent to New York growers; and 3) Delivering this information to New York farmers, extension educators, and Cornell faculty in an understandable and timely manner. Mission Statement - Our primary mission is to support New York's fruit industry by being the primary resource for current, unbiased information on tree fruit and berry crop diseases and their management. We will work with researchers, extension educators, and growers to develop good disease management practices in an effort to increase market share for New York producers, while assuring consumers safe, reasonably-priced, high-quality fruits.
