The Tree Fruit and Berry Pathology group is led under the direction of Dr. Kerik Cox, Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology at Cornell University in Geneva, New York. The Tree Fruit and Berry Pathology group assists New York farmers in management of diseases that affect production of quality fruit by conducting research that addresses current and future pathology issues, summarizing research and practical information pertinent to New York growers, and disseminating this information to New York farmers, extension educators, and Cornell faculty in an understandable and timely manner.
Our primary mission is to support New York's fruit industry as the primary resource for current, unbiased information on tree fruit and berry crop diseases and their management. We will work with researchers, extension educators, and growers to develop good disease management practices in an effort to increase market share for New York producers, while assuring consumers safe, reasonably-priced, high-quality fruits.
