Summary
Hierarchical weather systems are a new technology for providing on-site weather information without any on-site weather equipment. The technology uses spatial interpolation procedures, mesoscale models and other technologies to estimate weather variables at a local scale.  Currently commercial products are available at a 1km2 resolution.
